St. Helena Hospital Receives Largest Donation in its History (10/23/2009)
St. Helena resident Mabel Johnson and her late husband Wayne have made an $8 million gift to the St. Helena Hospital Foundation. The Johnsons' gift, an irrevocable trust to benefit St. Helena Hospital, represents the largest charitable contribution in the hospital's history.

Life Line Screening Offer Stroke Screenings Sept. 16 (9/1/2009)
St. Helena Hospital is partnering with Life Line Screening, the nation's leading provider of community-based preventive screenings, to stop stroke and hip fractures in their tracks. A screening event will be held September 16 at the Grace Episcopal Church, 1314 Spring Street, in St. Helena.

Erick Neuharth, executive chef at St. Helena Hospital, has won the 2009 Culinary Creations Award from Premier Healthcare Alliance for his roasted red pepper lasagna roulade recipe topped with fresh tomato sauce and alfredo.

St. Helena Hospital Announces Changes to Foster Long-Term Growth (5/21/2009)
Terry Newmyer, president/CEO of St. Helena Hospital, announced the introduction of an aggressive new business model to improve the hospital's financial stability and growth opportunities. As part of this, 28 positions plus 12 that are not currently filled are being eliminated.

Statement Regarding the Death of Dr. Erin Jacobson (3/23/2009)
"The St. Helena Hospital family is filled with such deep sadness over the deaths of Dr. Erin Jacobson, his wife Amy, and their three children, Taylor, Ava and Jude. Erin was an ophthalmologist at St. Helena Hospital, and his father, Dr. John Jacobson, is a cardiac surgeon at our hospital."

Free Event: Passport to A Healthy Heart & Beyond (1/27/2009)
St. Helena Hospital presents "Passport to a Healthy Heart & Beyond," an American Heart Month event focusing on fun, inexpensive travel tips and information about heart disease. The seminar is February 17 at 6 p.m. at Tra Vigne restaurant, 1050 Charter Oak, in St. Helena.

St. Helena Hospital Announces Leadership Change (1/7/2009)
JoAline Olson, president/CEO of St. Helena Hospital for the past 11 years, has been named vice president of clinical innovation for the hospital's parent healthcare system Adventist Health. Terry Newmyer of Florida Hospital will be the new president/CEO of St. Helena Hospital and its sister facilities, St. Helena Hospital Clearlake in Lake County and the St. Helena Center for Behavioral Health in Vallejo. The leadership change takes effect in early February.
