History
Established in 1878 as the Rural Health Retreat. After the turn of the century St. Helena Hospital (SHH) became a full-service, nonprofit community hospital. Drawing from a five-county region and beyond, the Hospital treats a wide variety of medical problems through more than 6000 emergency department, 6700 inpatient and 70,800 outpatient outpatient visits each year.

Foundation
The St. Helena Hospital Foundation is supported generously by local industry, national foundations and individual donors. The Foundation provides trust, annuity and estate planning services in the context of charitable giving. Since its inception, the Foundation has received cash and in-kind donations to SHH totaling more than $30 million in support of quality health care for the Napa Valley.
