Links
Inpatient occupational therapy services provide care for post-surgical
conditions such as total hip and knee replacements, stroke, open-heart
surgery and other neurological diseases.
Outpatient occupational therapy services include the use of electrical
stimulation, iontophoresis, ultrasound, heat and ice. Exercise and individual
instruction programs are offered to assist in the quickest recovery possible
from such conditions as post-surgical orthopedic procedures, cumulative
trauma injuries, strokes and other neurological disorders where self-care
training is indicated.
Other occupational therapy services include, but are not limited to:
Assessment and treatment of occupational performance including:
independent living skills
pre-vocational and work adjustments
educational skills
play and leisure abilities
social skills
Assessment and treatment of performance components, including neuromuscular,
sensori-integrative, cognitive and psychosocial skills
Therapeutic interventions, adaptations and prevention
Individualized evaluations of past and current performance, based on observations
of individual or group tasks, standardized tests, record review,
interviews and/or activity histories.
Patient and family education to enhance treatment outcomes.
