OBSTETRICAL SERVICES
Life Begins at St. Helena Hospital. At The Family Birth Place at St. Helena
Hospital, we believe that the birth of a baby is a family experience. Fathers,
grandparents, siblings, and significant others are encouraged to share in the birthing
experience, with the support of our highly trained, knowledgeable and caring staff.
The Family Birth Place at St. Helena Hospital offers the following services for your
comfort and assistance:
An online
web nursery offer parents a chance to share their new arrival with friends and family.
A one-room-stay policy that allows you
to experience labor and delivery in the one room, without being moved to
a different room after delivery. You enjoy a beautiful view overlooking
the Napa Valley from most of The Family Birth Place rooms.
The same nurses throughout your stay,
so that those who assist you during labor and delivery will also take
care of you and your baby after delivery.
24-hour in-house OB anesthesia,
including epidural.
A 24-hour rooming-in policy, so that
your baby may stay with you during your entire hospital stay, if you
wish.
Visiting hours at your invitation and
discretion. There are no restrictions for family members, and fathers or
significant others may spend the night with you in your room, if
desired.
An in-home postpartum visit from a
registered nurse, who is also a lactation (breast-feeding) specialist.
Educational classes in childbirth preparation, infant/child CPR, newborn
