Since completing a plastic surgery residency and faculty appointment at
Yale University School of Medicine in 1992, Steven Herber, MD, has been
one of California's leading instructors and practitioners in progressive
plastic and aesthetic surgery techniques. Dr. Herber obtained his medical
degree and surgical residency training at Loma Linda University School
of Medicine, where he later returned as a member of the teaching faculty
in the Department of Surgery.
An active researcher, Dr. Herber has contributed widely to medical journal
and textbooks, has presented at the International Symposium of Plastic
Surgery, and has appeared as an authority representing his specialty on
radio and television networks. His expertise in the field of plastic surgery
has won him national recognition and an international leadership award
from the American Medical Association for his volunteer work on behalf
of indigent children around the world.

With more than 16 years of extensive experience in plastic surgery, Heidi
Bowen's expertise in reconstruction and aesthetic surgical nursing and
operating room supervision enable her to play a key role in the successful
treatment and follow-up of each patient who comes to the Institute. She
began working with Dr. Herber at Loma Linda University Medical Center
in 1994, where she assisted as an advanced practice nurse, collaborating
with diagnosis, evaluation and attention to patient recovery. Heidi is
the founder of Southern California's Inland Empire Chapter of Image Reborn,
a breast reconstruction support group.
