ADULT INPATIENT SERVICES

The adult inpatient program provides short-term evaluation and treatment for adults who are experiencing acute symptoms of major mental illnesses.

Highlights:

24 beds on a secured unit

Comprehensive assessment, including psychiatric evaluation, medical history and physical evaluation, psycho-social assessment and family assessment as needed.

Daily visits by the patient's primary doctor

A cohesive, supportive and therapeutic setting with constant supervision by trained staff

A multi-disciplinary staff of registered nurses, social workers, licensed psychiatric technicians, creative arts and expressive therapists and other support staff

Individualized plans of care that include input from the patient, family members and care givers

Discharge and after-care planning initiated at the time of admission

An active therapeutic program, including:

    psychotherapy groups

    educational groups focusing on symptom recognition and control, medications and treatments

    groups focused on social, communications and daily living skills

    physical activities and exercise

    family therapy sessions, as needed

    evaluation for chemical dependency and addictive behaviors, with referrals as needed
